Airtightness kit estimator

Tell us about your job and we'll work out the Pro Clima membrane, tapes, grommets and adhesive you're likely to need. All prices are ex VAT. You can change any quantity before you add it to your basket.

1. Membrane
2. Windows & doors

A 1.2m x 1.2m window has a perimeter of 4.8m; a standard door about 5.4m.

3. Corners & edges

Rough edges are bonded with Orcon F adhesive. Tape on dusty or absorbent surfaces needs primer first. Leave blank if neither applies.

4. Cables & pipes passing through the membrane

Count every penetration: lighting and socket cables, soil and waste pipes, water and heating pipes, 100mm ventilation ducts.

How we work this out
  • Membrane: the wall and roof/ceiling areas are added together, plus your laps and waste allowance (10% unless you change it), then divided by the roll size. For DA we use 75 m² rolls and one 30 m² roll for the remainder where that is enough.
  • Tescon Vana 60mm tape: about 3 rolls (90 m) for every 75 m² of membrane, covering laps, edges and junctions to the structure. Roflex pipe grommets are supplied without tape, so we add about 0.8 m of tape for each one.
  • Window and door tape: total frame perimeter plus 5%, in 30 m rolls. Contega Solido SL goes on the inside; EXO is the external tape.
  • Corner tape: Tescon Profil, 30 m rolls, with 5% added.
  • Orcon F: we allow 8 m of bead per 310ml cartridge, the cautious end of Pro Clima's 6-15 m range.
  • Primer: Tescon Primer RP, about 75 m of 60mm tape per litre.
  • Grommets: Kaflex packs of 15, Roflex packs of 10.
