Pro Clima DA (1.5m handy roll) 1.5m x 20m
£93.00 Inc VAT
Pro Clima DA is a robust, self-adhesive membrane tape carrier designed for sealing and bonding airtightness membranes. The handy 1.5m x 20m roll is ideal for smaller projects or detailing work where a compact, easy-to-handle roll size is preferred.
Built for the Reality of a Building Site
Most vapour control membranes are designed to be installed once the structure is enclosed and protected. DA is different. It combines the vapour control and airtightness performance expected of an internal membrane with the physical robustness to cope with exposure to the elements, foot traffic, and the general punishment of a live construction site.
The membrane has a three-layer structure: a functional airtight film sandwiched between two durable polypropylene fleece layers. The fleece gives DA its characteristic toughness — it resists tearing, scuffing, and damage from being walked over, making it particularly well suited to floor applications and to situations where the membrane will be installed before other trades have finished working in the same area. The green-coloured outer fleece also minimises glare when working in bright conditions externally.
The Key Advantage: Up to 3 Months' Weather Exposure
On timber frame and CLT buildings where external insulation is installed after the structural frame is up, there's often a period where the internal membrane is the only line of defence against the weather. DA is specifically designed for this situation. It can be installed directly to the timber frame or CLT at an early stage in the project, making the structure airtight and temporarily weatherproof while other work continues — handling driving rain and UV exposure for up to three months before the external insulation and permanent windtight membrane go on.
This also makes DA a useful planning tool. A strip can be fixed over a roof joist before rafters are installed, leaving accessible, easy-to-tape edges that allow the airtight layer to be continued seamlessly later in the project without having to work in awkward confined spaces.
Where DA Is Used
- Timber frame and CLT roofs, walls, and ceilings where the membrane will be temporarily exposed externally during construction
- Above-rafter applications on sarking boards beneath insulation, on diffusion-open roof structures
- Suspended timber floor refurbishment — DA's durability makes it the preferred choice over standard membranes where floorboards will be laid over the top
- Early-stage airtightness detailing at junctions and structural interfaces
Installation Notes
Fix with galvanised staples (minimum 10mm wide x 8mm long) at 100mm centres in the overlap zone, reducing to 50mm if dense-pack blown insulation is being compressed against the membrane. Leave a 40mm overlap at adjacent structural elements to allow for taping later. Overlap between membrane runs should be a minimum of 100mm. The printed guide lines on the membrane help maintain consistent overlap widths and keep tape lines straight. Seal overlaps with Tescon Vana tape, pressing firmly with a seam roller. For connections to rough masonry or concrete, use Orcon F sealant. Always tape onto the green fleece face of the membrane for best adhesion.
