Pro Clima Tescon Rapic 60mm wide 30m x 60mm

Pro Clima Tescon Rapic is a fast-bonding, single-sided airtightness tape with an aggressive acrylic adhesive for rapid, secure sealing on a wide range of substrates. The 60mm x 30m roll is suited to high-throughput applications where speed of installation is important.
The Tape That Saves Time on Site
Every other tape in the Proclima range uses a release paper backing — you peel, apply, dispose. On a busy site sealing dozens of overlaps, junctions, and penetrations, that process adds up. Tescon Rapic eliminates it entirely. There's no liner to remove, no backing paper to collect and bin, and no need for a knife or scissors — the tape tears cleanly by hand to whatever length you need.
The result is a tape that genuinely speeds up installation without cutting corners on the quality of the seal. It's the same water-resistant solid acrylic adhesive used in Tescon Vana, which means the bond strengthens over time, holds through temperature swings and wet conditions, and is rated for a service life of 60+ years.
How It Works Without a Liner
The obvious question with a liner-free tape is how it doesn't stick to itself on the roll. Tescon Rapic is engineered so that the adhesive only releases under slow, sustained pressure — the kind of force that happens when the tape is pressed firmly onto a substrate and held there. Unrolling the tape from the roll applies only brief, low-level contact, which the adhesive resists. Once the tape is pressed down on a surface with a seam roller or Pressfix tool, full adhesion engages. After 24 hours, the bond is permanent.
Where It's Used
Tescon Rapic is suited to internal and external applications on membranes and smooth rigid panels:
- Sealing overlaps between airtightness and vapour control membranes (including Intello Plus and DA)
- Sealing overlaps and edges on external breather membranes (including Solitex Plus)
- Taping joints between rigid wood-based panels — OSB, chipboard, MDF, plywood — where airtight panel-to-panel connections are needed
- Connections to planed or painted timber, metal, and hard plastics
- Any junction where speed of application matters and the substrate is smooth and stable
Where to Use Tescon Vana Instead
Tescon Rapic performs best on smooth, stable surfaces. For rough-sawn timber, textured substrates, curved surfaces, or anywhere the tape needs to conform to an irregular profile, Tescon Vana's stiffer polyester backing gives it an edge. If in doubt, Vana is the more versatile all-rounder; Rapic is the faster option for straightforward flat runs.
Application Notes
Surfaces must be dry, dust-free, and grease-free before applying. On smooth mineral surfaces such as concrete or plaster, use Tescon Primer RP or Tescon Sprimer first to ensure adequate adhesion. Position the tape centrally over the joint or membrane overlap, then unroll and press down as you go. Finish by pressing firmly across the full length with a Pressfix seam roller to activate full adhesion. Can be left exposed externally for up to three months before the outer finish is installed.
