Pro Clima Contega Solido EXO100 100mm x 30m

Pro Clima Contega Solido EXO is a vapour-open, self-adhesive external connection tape designed for use in exposed or semi-exposed locations. At 100mm wide, it provides a wide sealing zone for connecting external membranes and underlays to structural substrates, with excellent resistance to moisture and UV.

Completing the Window Junction — Inside and Out

A fully sealed window or door opening requires two separate tapes working together: an internal tape controlling airtightness and vapour on the warm side, and an external tape resisting wind and driving rain on the cold side. Contega Solido SL handles the interior. Contega Solido Exo handles the exterior. Used together, they provide a complete, certified seal at what is one of the most vulnerable junctions in any building envelope.

Windtight and Rain-Resistant From the Moment It's Applied

Contega Solido Exo uses the same modified waterproof solid acrylic adhesive as the rest of the Proclima tape range. As soon as the tape is pressed down and the bond engaged, the junction is immediately windproof and resistant to driving rain — no curing time, no waiting before the next stage of work can continue. Watertightness exceeds a 2,500mm water column, meeting the W1 classification and making it suitable for all UK exposure zones including the most severe western and upland areas.

Diffusion-Open for Moisture Management

Unlike the interior SL tape which acts as a vapour retarder, Contega Solido Exo is diffusion-open — its central TEEE membrane layer allows moisture vapour to pass through freely from the inside of the construction to the outside. This prevents moisture from becoming trapped in the wall build-up around the window frame, supporting rapid drying after construction and protecting the surrounding insulation and structure from interstitial condensation over the long term.

Plasterable for Render Systems

Like the SL tape, Contega Solido Exo has a fleece face that accepts wet plaster and external render directly. In external insulation and render systems (EWI/EIFS), the tape integrates directly into the render layer, providing a neat, continuous transition between the window frame and the external wall finish with no visible tape edge and no need for secondary detailing. The fleece provides strong mechanical adhesion for the render and reinforces the junction against future cracking.

Pre-Installation or Post-Installation

Contega Solido Exo can be applied pre-installation — taped to the window frame before it is set into the opening, using the split release paper to stage adhesion — or post-installation directly to the installed frame. Pre-installation is particularly useful on larger projects where accuracy and speed of installation matter; it allows the frame and tape to be positioned together as a single unit, with the tape then bonded to the surrounding substrate once the frame is fixed.

Installation Notes

Surfaces should be clean, stable, and free from dust, grease, and silicone. Use of Tescon Primer RP or Tescon Sprimer is recommended on all surfaces prior to application to ensure maximum long-term adhesion, particularly on mineral substrates. Remove the split release paper strips in stages as you work around the frame, pressing firmly onto both the frame and the substrate. Finish by running a Pressfix seam roller along the full length to activate full adhesion. Can be left exposed externally for up to three months before render, cladding, or other protection is applied over it.
