Description

Pro Clima Roflex 100 is a heavy-duty airtight grommet for larger pipe penetrations between 100mm and 120mm diameter, such as soil stacks and MVHR ducting. The 200mm x 200mm flange bonds securely to the airtightness membrane, ensuring a long-lasting, reliable seal. Supplied in a pack of 10.

The Right Grommet for 100mm Ducting and Soil Pipes

Where the Roflex 30 handles smaller pipework such as water supply and heating pipes, the Roflex 100 covers the larger-diameter services that are common on any well-specified new build or retrofit: 100mm MVHR supply and extract ducts, 100mm soil and waste pipes, and similarly-sized conduit runs. Each of these represents a significant penetration through the airtightness layer — and at this diameter, the gap between a poorly sealed pipe and a well-sealed one is large enough to measurably affect air permeability test results.

Same Proven System, Larger Format

Roflex 100 works on exactly the same principle as the rest of the Roflex range. It is a flat EPDM rubber disc with a pre-cut central hole sized smaller than the rated pipe diameter. When the pipe is fed through, the rubber stretches to grip the pipe circumference evenly all the way round, forming a permanent mechanical airtight seal without any adhesive between grommet and pipe. The grommet is then seated flat against the membrane surface and secured around its perimeter with Tescon Vana tape, completing the airtight connection.

The larger 200mm x 200mm format of the Roflex 100 provides a generous tape overlap onto both the grommet and the surrounding membrane — important at this scale to ensure a fully sealed perimeter and adequate structural support for a larger, heavier pipe.

Pipes Can Still Be Adjusted

Despite gripping the pipe tightly, the elastic EPDM rubber allows the pipe to be pushed or pulled through the grommet after installation if service runs need adjusting. This is a practical advantage during construction — MVHR duct runs in particular are sometimes adjusted as ceiling or wall finishes are installed — and avoids having to cut and reseal penetrations once the airtight layer is in place.

Heat Resistant and UV Stable

The EPDM material is rated to 150°C continuous service temperature, making it suitable for the full range of pipework and duct applications likely to pass through the airtight layer at this diameter. For applications where temperature may exceed 150°C — such as flue pipes from solid fuel appliances — a specialist high-temperature grommet is required. Sealed with Tescon Vana, the assembly can be left exposed externally for up to 6 months before final cladding or roofing is installed.

Interior and Exterior Use

Roflex 100 can be used internally on airtightness membranes (Intello Plus, DA) and externally on breather membranes (Solitex Plus, Solitex Fronta WA) wherever pipes or ducts penetrate the external windtight layer. It is also suitable for use on sub-roof structures and refurbishment vapour control applications.

Important Installation Notes

At least one free end of the pipe must be accessible to thread the grommet on — Roflex grommets cannot be cut or split to fit around completed pipework. Always fit grommets before pipe runs are fully terminated. Do not exceed the maximum rated diameter of 120mm; overstretching the EPDM rubber will reduce grip force and risk air leakage. For pipes between 120–170mm, use the Roflex 150. Tescon Vana tape is required for sealing the grommet to the membrane and is sold separately — ensure it is ordered alongside the grommets.

Application

Slide the Roflex 100 grommet over the free pipe end and position it at the point where the pipe passes through the membrane. Pull the membrane flat against the back face of the grommet. Apply Tescon Vana tape in overlapping strips around the full perimeter of the grommet, lapping generously onto both the EPDM rubber and the surrounding membrane, and press firmly with a Pressfix seam roller. On porous or dusty membrane substrates, apply Tescon Primer RP or Sprimer before taping.
